Shortlist PETLIBRO Dockstream 2 plug-in PLWF106 for a permanent station beside an outlet, with direct Wi-Fi and specified tray dishwasher permissions. Shortlist PETKIT EverSweet Max 2 UVC P4116 when cordless placement solves a real problem and its battery-flow routine suits your cat. Then compare the compatible filters, the parts you will wash and any extra connection or charging hardware. Purchase price alone leaves much of the routine out. PETLIBRO plug-in support · PETKIT P4116 manual
This guide expands our running-cost worksheet with the two fountains in our completed research. It covers US PLWF106, not Dockstream's cordless or RFID versions, and P4116 / CT-W3-UV-100, the UVC Max 2, not an earlier EverSweet. The shortlist is limited to these studied models; the recommendations translate documentation and attributed accounts into household choices. The filter figures below are dated scenarios, not total ownership-cost or performance rankings.
Start with the location and water-flow routine
| What matters in your home | Conditional recommendation | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| A suitable outlet is already beside the water station | Dockstream 2 PLWF106 | Supplied adapter, continuous/timed flow and your Wi-Fi setup suit the location. |
| The cat's preferred location has no convenient outlet | EverSweet Max 2 UVC P4116 | Battery operation suits your cat's response to intermittent flow, and you can manage charging. |
| Continuous moving water is essential | PLWF106 beside an outlet, or documented plugged-in P4116 operation | P4116's linked manual does not promise continuous battery flow. |
| Away-from-home app access matters and you have no PETKIT master device | PLWF106 is the simpler documented connection route | Current app entitlements and alert delivery still need checking. |
| You already own a compatible PETKIT master device | P4116 may fit the existing setup | Confirm the exact master, firmware and distance requirements. |
| Some dishwasher use is central to your cleaning routine | Compare the named parts and cycle guidance | PLWF106 permits its identified tray assembly under stated limits. P4116 lists five parts, with cycle settings unspecified. |
The connection and power choices come from PLWF106 presale guidance and P4116 manual pages 8–9 and 13–16; component care comes from PETLIBRO's dishwasher answer and PETKIT's US named-parts table. These are functional-fit recommendations. Comparative cleaning minutes, noise, reliability and drinking-measurement accuracy have not been established for this pair.
PLWF106 has no built-in battery or motion sensor. Its documented flow choices are continuous, timed or stopped; cordless-family marketing does not add features to it. P4116 has a built-in battery, but its linked manual defaults battery pumping to 25 seconds per hour, with adjustable frequency. Plugged in, it documents continuous flow or intermittent operation, defaulting to three minutes on and three off. The live P4116 page advertises sensor/three-mode behavior that the linked manual does not resolve. If approach-triggered battery flow decides the purchase, confirm the supplied hardware and firmware first. PETLIBRO flow controls · PETKIT manual · Current P4116 listing
Choose the cleaning routine you will maintain
Both models store 3 L and list stainless drinking trays. That does not make the full water path stainless or establish a suitable interval between water checks. Read the component instructions rather than choosing from material or “pump-free” headlines alone. PLWF106 specifications · P4116 specifications and manual
Dockstream 2 PLWF106: PETLIBRO permits the integrated stainless water tray and filter tray in a dishwasher, excluding the filter lid. The trays stay attached. It specifies temperatures below 194°F / 90°C, with a recommended maximum cycle duration of 1–2 hours. Other washable parts need hand washing below 122°F / 50°C. The electrical base must never be rinsed or submerged. Check whether your dishwasher's actual cycle fits those limits. Exact washing permissions
Its support guidance recommends weekly interior wiping/washing, subject to those electrical exclusions. It also calls for rotor/shaft cleaning and replacement of white filters and black foam every two weeks, more often with multiple pets. Gentle brushing matters around the delicate shaft. “Pump-free” does not eliminate these tasks, and the two-week instruction is not a whole-pump replacement schedule. Weekly care and filter interval · Plug-in rotor/foam maintenance
EverSweet Max 2 UVC P4116: manual page 17 identifies six washable water parts: lid, tray, filter holder, tank, outlet pipe and wireless pump. Remove the control module; the base and controller are wipe-only electrical exclusions and cannot be rinsed or immersed. The tank needs at least weekly cleaning and a thorough monthly clean, adjusted for use and water conditions. P4116 component instructions
PETKIT's US table names tank, tray, lid, filter holder and outlet pipe as dishwasher-safe for Max 2 UVC. The washable pump is not listed, and the base/controller remain excluded. Cycle settings are unspecified; follow the supplied component instructions. Heat-resistant PPO marketing does not authorize boiling the appliance. UVC leaves the manual's cleaning and filter tasks in place. PETKIT named-parts table
Before choosing, picture removing each water part, reaching the outlet and rotor/pump, drying and reassembling everything. PLWF106 provides specified cycle limits for its tray assembly; P4116 lists five dishwasher-safe parts but leaves cycle settings unspecified. The evidence supports those distinctions without a measured fastest-cleaning winner. Our fountain-cleaning guide covers the broader routine; the exact model instructions govern component permissions.

The US listings below were checked October 9, 2026. Exact fountain and filter variant metadata marked availability true; this was listing verification, not checkout. Prices exclude tax, shipping, discounts and subscriptions.
| Item | Dockstream 2 PLWF106 | EverSweet Max 2 UVC P4116 |
|---|---|---|
| Fountain listing | White/black plug-in: $79.99 | CT-W3-UV-100: $99.99 |
| Compatible pack used here | PL-FF005-02W: eight white filters plus eight foam sponges, $26.99 | RECT P4171 / retail LV5.0: five filters, $19.99 |
| Documented filter interval | Two weeks for one pet; more often with multiple pets | Fountain FAQ: four weeks; accessory page: two to four weeks |
| Annualized filter value at stated example interval | $87.96 at 14 days | $52.12 at 28 days; $104.23 at 14 days |
| Whole-pack purchase illustration | Four eight-packs: $107.96 | Three five-packs: $59.97 at the 28-day scenario |
Listing sources: PLWF106 white plug-in, its eight-pack, P4116 UVC, and RECT five-pack. PETKIT's exact UVC bundle specifications establish the RECT association. The intervals come from PETLIBRO's filter guidance, PETKIT's fountain FAQ and RECT guidance.
Annualized value spreads consumption across time. For Dockstream: 365 ÷ 14 × ($26.99 ÷ 8) = $87.96. For PETKIT at four weeks: 365 ÷ 28 × ($19.99 ÷ 5) = $52.12. A two-week PETKIT scenario is about $104.23. Use the interval that applies to actual use; the longer scenario does not prove lower total annual cost for every home.
Cash spending comes in full packs. Four PETLIBRO packs cost $107.96 and three PETKIT packs cost $59.97; each leaves spares in its example. Included starter filters change first-year purchase demand. The PETLIBRO pack includes white filters and foam; PETKIT's separate pump-foam cadence and price are unresolved, so the rows do not establish equivalent complete consumable costs. PETLIBRO's “24-pack / one-year supply” label also cannot replace the arithmetic for roughly 26 two-week cycles.
Use the worksheet for your own year
Record the exact model, compatible supply SKU, checked date, pack size and current price. For a period beginning with a new filter, estimate:
Total filters used = round up(days in the period ÷ interval in days)
Packs to buy = round up(max(0, total filters used − usable included/on-hand filters) ÷ filters per pack)
Cash supply spending = packs to buy × pack price
This counts the filter installed at the start. Subtract it once if it is included or already on hand. If starting with a partly used filter, account for its remaining service time instead. Keep leftover pack contents for the next period; do not charge them twice. Repeat the calculation for other scheduled consumables, keeping unknown inputs visibly unknown.
For example, a 365-day, 28-day PETKIT scenario uses 14 filters including the starting filter. With one usable included RECT filter and no other stock, 13 more are needed: three five-packs at the checked price cost $59.97, leaving two spares. The official UVC bundle lists one included filter; verify your seller's actual package before using that input. This is a filter-only scenario, not a quoted total annual bill. Add power, parts and app hardware separately
PLWF106 includes its adapter. P4116's US listing includes a USB cable and excludes the adapter, while its manual calls for the original adapter. Obtain PETKIT's approved US charging-accessory recommendation; a generic voltage match alone is not an approved accessory. That unresolved purchase may affect your starting budget. PLWF106 package/support · P4116 package and manual
P4116 uses nearby Bluetooth. Away-from-home interconnection requires a compatible PETKIT feeder/litter-box master, updated firmware and placement within eight unobstructed meters; the manual excludes Fresh Element P512 and Mini P530. Price a master separately only if you need that function and do not already own a compatible one. PLWF106 connects directly to home Wi-Fi. Confirm the current history, alerts and paid-plan features you actually want rather than assuming all advertised app functions have zero recurring cost. P4116 manual, pages 15–16 · PETLIBRO Care table
PETKIT's compatible P41161 FFT1-2 UVC pump listed at $21.99. No calendar replacement interval was established, so keep it as a possible repair scenario instead of charging for one every year. Replacement batteries, other parts and their service lives lack sufficient inputs for a dollar forecast. Compatible UVC pump
For electricity, use verified device draw or a clearly labeled rated-power scenario, operating hours and your utility rate: watts ÷ 1,000 × hours × $/kWh. An adapter's output capacity is not measured consumption, and intermittent pumping/charging complicates a continuous-draw assumption. Leave dollars blank until those inputs are available. The existing worksheet uses Virginia Tech's appliance-energy method.
Keep app records in perspective
Neither studied model identifies individual cats. PLWF106's documented amount/time records require calibration and do not establish verified intake accuracy. P4116's manual describes drinking counts and duration, without a measured milliliter intake feature. In a shared household, check the water and each cat's use directly rather than treating aggregate records as individual consumption. Dockstream records · P4116 manual, page 15
The research includes four selected plug-in-related Dockstream contributors and eight Max 2 family contributors; only one of the latter was a probable UVC account, with no serial-confirmed P4116 reports. Cleaning and app experiences are useful prompts in the profiles, but the unequal samples do not establish a reliability ranking. Read the Dockstream review, EverSweet review and model comparison for those attributed accounts and remaining mode/connection questions.
Questions before choosing
Which has the lower annual cost?
The checked PETKIT filter scenario at 28 days has lower annualized filter value than Dockstream's 14-day scenario. At 14 days, the PETKIT value rises to $104.23. Different intervals, incomplete foam/parts costs and possible adapter/master purchases prevent a universal total-cost conclusion.
Which suits a dishwasher-based routine?
PLWF106 permits its integrated tray assembly under temperature and duration limits. P4116 lists tank, tray, lid, filter holder and outlet pipe, with cycle settings unspecified; the pump is absent from that list. Neither entire appliance can be immersed or treated as a dishwasher item.
Can PETKIT run continuously on battery?
Its linked manual documents default scheduled battery pumping, not continuous battery flow. Confirm current sensor-mode behavior if that is essential to your purchase.
Does UVC remove filter or washing costs?
The P4116 documentation still calls for filters and cleaning. The reviewed evidence does not support eliminating either expense or task.
Is the pump a yearly consumable?
No fixed annual replacement interval was established for the listed UVC pump. Budget a possible repair separately and check current compatible parts when needed.
