Start with placement and the stream your cat needs. Dockstream 2 PLWF106 is the powered option beside an outlet. EverSweet Max 2 UVC P4116 offers battery placement, with different documented flow on battery. Our assessments draw on product specifications, independent reviews and owner experiences, with model boundaries retained.
The practical differences
| Decision | Dockstream 2 PLWF106 plug-in | EverSweet Max 2 UVC P4116 |
|---|---|---|
| Exact US model | PLWF106 plug-in; PL-WF106-01W/01B | P4116 UVC; CT-W3-UV-100 |
| Reservoir / materials | 3 L; ABS/steel, 304 steel tray | 3 L; manual ABS/PPO/304 steel; full component map unknown |
| Placement / power | Adapter-only; no battery | Built-in battery or USB; US adapter excluded |
| Documented flow | Continuous default; timed max 60-min interval / 5-min flow; no sensor | Manual: continuous or 3-min on/off plugged in; battery 25 sec/hour adjustable |
| Current sensor caveat | Plug-in support explicitly says no motion sensing | Listing advertises sensor mode; linked manual does not describe it; verify exact firmware |
| Remote app setup | 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi and main Petlibro app | Bluetooth locally; supported PETKIT master for remote access, within 8 m/no obstruction |
| Drinking data | Documented amount/time/duration; one-pet tracking; accuracy unmeasured | Documented count/duration; no established ml or individual identity |
| Dishwasher boundary | Integrated water/filter tray only, filter lid excluded; below 194°F/90°C, max 1–2 h recommended | US dishwasher list: tank/tray/lid/filter holder/outlet pipe; cycle settings unspecified; pump not listed; base/controller no rinse/soak |
| Recurring maintenance | Rotor/shaft cleaning + white filter/foam replacement every 2 weeks, more often multiple pets | Tank at least weekly/thorough monthly adjusted to use; filter FAQ 4 weeks, RECT 2–4 weeks |
| Dated US listing price | $79.99 single plug-in white/black before tax/shipping | $99.99 UVC before tax/shipping; adapter/master costs additional if needed |
| Filter cost illustration | 8 filter+foam sets $26.99; 14-day annualized $87.96 | 5 RECT filters $19.99; 28-day annualized $52.12, 14-day $104.23 |
| Owner evidence scope | 4 distinct plug-in-related contributors; conflicting outage behavior | 8 Max 2 family contributors; 1 probable UVC, 0 serial-confirmed P4116 |
| Conditional fit | Powered station with useful records and accepted calibration/upkeep | Outlet-free placement with accepted flow and Bluetooth/master setup |
These rows compare documented functions and conditional household fit. Equal 3 L reservoirs do not establish equal refill intervals, tracking accuracy or care needs. The PETLIBRO cordless PLWF116 and RFID PLWF305, PETKIT non-UVC Max 2 and earlier Max are different products. Dockstream identity · P4116 listing
Placement changes the flow question
Dockstream’s plug-in support describes continuous flow by default and customizable timed flow, with a maximum 60-minute interval and five-minute flow period. PLWF106 has no battery or motion sensor. A permanent powered station is its clearest fit. Plug-in capabilities · Flow controls
PETKIT’s linked September 2025 P4116 manual describes continuous or intermittent flow when plugged in, and 25 seconds per hour by default on battery, with adjustable frequency. More frequent pumping shortens runtime. Current live marketing advertises sensor activation and three modes; the manual does not settle that feature for present hardware/firmware. If a motion-triggered stream is essential, confirm its current power-source behavior before buying. The advertised up-to-83-day runtime is not an expected household duration in this comparison. What remote access requires
Dockstream uses the main Petlibro app and 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi; pairing and empty-base calibration are separate setup steps. Its documented records include drinking amount, time and duration, but calibration, vibration and shared use affect interpretation. It cannot identify which cat drank. Setup · Calibration · Records
P4116 synchronizes locally through nearby Bluetooth. Away-from-home access requires a supported PETKIT master device within the manual’s distance and firmware conditions; P512 and P530 are excluded. The fountain’s manual describes counts and duration, rather than individual-cat identification or verified milliliters consumed. Confirm exact master compatibility, alerts and account features. Current complete free/paid app entitlements remain unresolved for both ecosystems. P4116 manual, pages 11–16
Cleaning and replacement supplies
PETLIBRO’s US care answer permits the integrated stainless water/filter tray assembly, excluding its filter lid, in a dishwasher below 194°F/90°C with a recommended maximum 1–2-hour cycle. Other washable parts require hand washing below 122°F/50°C; the electrical base cannot be rinsed or immersed. Its plug-in maintenance instructions also require rotor/shaft cleaning and white filter plus black foam replacement every two weeks, more often with multiple pets. “Pump-free” does not remove this upkeep. Dishwasher boundary · Maintenance
P4116’s manual identifies six washable components and excludes the base/controller from rinse or immersion. Its US comparison table names five for dishwasher use; the pump is not listed and cycle settings remain unspecified. Follow the supplied component instructions. Tank washing is recommended at least weekly, thorough cleaning monthly, adjusted to use. Filter advice spans two to four weeks. UVC does not establish household efficacy or replace washing. The cost illustration uses dated US listing prices before tax/shipping: eight Dockstream filter/foam sets at $26.99, and five PETKIT RECT filters at $19.99. Annualized supply value is 365 ÷ replacement interval × per-set price: about $87.96 for Dockstream at 14 days; $52.12 for PETKIT at 28 days or $104.23 at 14 days. Those are different assumptions, not a universal cheaper-to-own verdict. Full-pack purchases cost $107.96 for four Dockstream packs or $59.97 for three PETKIT packs, leave spares and differ from annualized usage; included filters reduce first-year replacements. Adapter/master spending, parts, electricity, discounts, tax and shipping are additional factors. Dockstream supplies · PETKIT supplies
Uneven owner evidence
Four selected plug-in-related Dockstream contributors describe useful cleaning/app access alongside conflicting outage behavior and one firmware-linked connection complaint. Eight selected Max 2 family contributors describe acceptance, remote-hardware surprises and cleaning concerns; only one is probable UVC and none is serial-confirmed P4116. These are self-selected accounts with unverified purchases, markets and revisions. They cannot establish comparative failure rates or a P4116 reliability sample. Exact-model independent performance comparisons and verified intake accuracy remain open. See the attributed accounts in the Dockstream profile and PETKIT profile.
Choose around the routine you will maintain
Shortlist Dockstream for a stable powered station where direct Wi-Fi records and maintenance prompts are useful. Shortlist P4116 when outlet-free placement has a real benefit and you accept its flow and Bluetooth/master requirements. If your deciding requirement is individual-cat measurement, guaranteed offline behavior or a fully specified dishwasher routine, resolve that exact requirement before buying. Neither product has a numeric score or measured overall-winner designation here. Offers and sources were checked October 9, 2026; check the selected package and present terms before ordering.
